ANTELOPE CANYON ULTRA MARATHON 2020

What a race. Starting in the dark with low temperatures and heavy wind, following the sandy and rocky trails in the light of our headlights to the dried-out canyons of the past… Running through the Arizona desert gives you a real sense of how small we really are in the face of ancient rocks and vast plateaus – especially standing at the edge of the 300m Glen Canyon, with an unbelievable view of the Colorado River and Horseshoe Bend. There was no better place to run my first 50-miler (80km) and I really enjoyed it. A big thank you to all the runners who joined me on the track, the volunteers – it was so much fun with you guys – and also the Navajo, who allowed us to experience their culture and country. Stay safe and see you in a couple of months for new adventures!
